Craig Malburg Photography
Welcome and thank you for visiting my website.
My passion and artistic outlet is Nature and Wildlife Photography. My infatuation with the great outdoors started on family trips and an active Boy Scout troop, in which I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
My dad and I would take pack horses into the High Sierra Backcountry, where we would be dropped off with our fly rods and my camera gear. We would spend the next several days fishing, exploring and photographing, as we backpacked our way out of the mountains. By the way, trout tastes best when freshly caught and consumed directly out of the frying pan!
It has always been my desire to provide a window to the beauty and wonder of nature. Therefore, I began submitting images (slides!) to magazines. I have been fortunate to have over 150 published images and five magazine covers. The thrill of my first published image, remains to this day.
Now it is time to expand my horizons and audience with this website. Allowing me to share my images with others and hopefully expose them to the connection I feel for nature.
As they say, life is not about the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away. For me, it is the challenge of photographing wildlife or standing behind my tripod, waiting in the dark to witness and capture the dawning of a new day. It is an awesome and spiritual experience, especially if there are some clouds!
I will always have the need to leave the city for awhile, and sit around a campfire.
